Gay Skins
I can’t focus for the life of me today… so instead of working on school work I just wondered through the archatecture and queer (I have no idea why but UMFlint has like half a floor of queer/gender theory books… it’s great) sections of the library and picked up books that looked intresting… I read a couple plays by Tolsdoy because I loved him in highschool, they were ok. I looked at a book of glass work from the midwest arts and crafts movement, which made me want to learn how to work with glass. and then I picked up a bunch of queer theory books, I flipped through them and read a few chapters but then I found this book called “Gay Skins” and it’s amazing.
I know fuck all about skin head culture, or british culture(other than watching everything from the BBC on netflix) but aparently there are a shit tone of queer skins, and even more of queer doods who just find the skin asthetic fucking hot (because let’s face it it really is) and EVEN MORE doods who are like oh there is this cool looking asthetic and it will get me laid so I will dress this way. I don’t know where I’m going with this but I highly recomend checking it out. It seams kind of dated and I’m not sure if that is because it is the 90’s or because it is the UK, either way it is kind of a historical artifact in and of it’s slef.
also it has picture of cute boys in it who really fucking rock the type of masculinity that I like in a pants way
